Stretching Day by Thomas-Koidhis Stretching Day by Thomas-Koidhis
We have started to get much longer daytime hours. In the middle of the summer, we have nearly 24 hours of daylight. It's always interesting in the transitional phases to capture extremely bright night skies coupled with auroras bright enough to shine through them.

It was incredible, I love spring nights!! I am so happy we are on the trend back to warmth as much as I enjoy winter at times...+6 minutes of sun per day :)

Me, too! I'm ready. However, Texas weather is all over the place. Sometimes feels like summer during winter.

Normally you need to be somewhere above at least 40 degrees to get lucky, but right now there is a lot of solar activity so you may be able to see something where you live in the next few years...keep an eye/ear out

Some day I'm going to go somewhere that I can take pictures of the lights myself. I would love to see them in person. Had a chance once when conditions caused them to appear around Lake Michigan but I didn't know about it until the next morning. :(

Any downsides to living where you live? lol

I think the pros outweigh the cons, for one. And I also think agree with Albert Einstein in that Cities should be abolished, or the majority of them anyways. I live where I do by choice :)

Cities are an interesting creation, and they can be beautiful I suppose...But unfortunately one of our great monuments of the destruction of the natural world, which we depend on.

It depends on who you are and what you like. If you like shopping/access to a variety of different luxuries, then that could be considered a downside. It's not like we have a low quality of life. We have two decent sized (but modest) grocery stores, a few clothing stores, liquor store, electronics, convenience, etc...All the stuff to cover needs and most wants. No car dealerships or anything like that.

One major downside is the cost of living. Everything is quite expensive. 4 liters or a gallon of milk costs us around $7 CAD. Rising fuel costs increases our prices of everything.

Other than small town politics (like any small town) it is pretty homely and beautiful here, and it is a great place to live with extremely clean and fresh air. We are also the Hub of Wood Buffalo National Park...Kind of the gateway haha.

If I could change one thing about this place it would be the mosquitoes. Ha!

Oh gosh! Haha... You said the magic word! Mosquitoes! I would burn them all to death if I could. I _abhor_ them. Where I live, they make being outside quite a pain. ...literally.

The rest of it didn't sound TOO bad. :)

sweet. On my way! lol I'm looking to redesign/build my own website (with lot of my friend's help) and then launch it and a fb page to direct to it. So I can do more photoadventures and such ;)

Right now I'm trying to figure out what/how I'll do it. ie put together some books or prints etc. It's a big world out there ;) LOL

It is a big world. I've started by making a blog on tumblr (that I have barely touched yet) and linked all my other pages to it...Kind of a website built from a bunch of different public applications, which works until I have the money to build a "real" website. It's always a big process, and I'm a bad procrastinator haha

haha yes! totally exactly! LOL :D I had a flavours.me that pulled together flickr/youtube/blog and it serves as a bit of a catch basin but with my buddies webspertise I'll look at making something a bit more purposeful/specific.

Stepping into the realm of prints/books/etc is a bit of an unknown world for me, but I'll only figure it out by doing it. And talking with my brother ;) ( www.veniceisinking.com ) haha
