This is a place near Fort Fitzgerald and along the Slave River. The photo is a pano from the first time I photographed here with a friend (www.karljohnston.com). We were shown this place by a local elder we know, which was an honor because it isn't a place that gets shown to just anybody!
It's basically a massive slab of granite shield rock that is raised above the lower landscape and bank of the Slave creating really awesome, sloping cliff. I haven't explored fully but I expect the granite deposit stretches hundreds of meters farther than I saw. I plan on revisiting it in various different seasons and capturing the area in all of it's infinitude of moods and forms.
