Well thank you so much. It truly just lined up for me perfectly is all. Our wildlife here seems to be as (mostly) untouched as the land. I will always be drawn back to this place.

Oh, so beautiful! And also cute! :love: I was searching for pictures of cross-foxes on here. There were pictures that included fox pelts and stuffed foxes and it made me want to cry; It was sick. How could anyone want to use another creature for clothing and decoration?

My affinity is a leucistic red fox, though. It would be a white fox(not albino; albino means completely lacking pigmentation).

Actually, I was just kidding, I'm a standard red fox!

Or, I just don't know what I am to be quite honest! ^^;

:) I am sad that you had to run into so much upsetting content while looking for creatures. I'm happy that you could find this photo, and hopefully it made up for some of the bad stuff you had to encounter.

Yeah, me too. By the way, I was a leucistic(white, but not albino; with some pigmentation) red fox in my past life.

Quite lucky! I should flesh out my artists comment a bit...There's a bit of a story behind most of my shots so I should probably tell them! We were driving down the highway and we saw the fox near the treeline, so I sat on the passengers windowsill and looked over the car with my telephoto and he was looking right at me :D Then he wasn't quite sure of us and wandered off.

what is a cross fox?

It is a subspecies of fox, just the common name for the type of fox it is. I always assumed that they came from red and silver foxes breeding

Thanks for having a look :) Just updated my artists comment...it is called a Cross Fox, less common than a red fox but more common than a silver/black fox ;)

Does that mean it's a cross between an actual black fox (we have them here) and a plane jane red fox? Being so interested in wildlife photography I should really learn more about species lol

A Cross Fox is a color phase of the Red Fox, Vulpes Vulpes. The name comes from the cross that is sometimes formed on it's back [link] . There are three naturally occuring colors in the Red Fox: Red, Cross, and Siver (Black).

It was about 7 meters away I think on the side of a dirt road...I was like sitting on the passenger side window frame aiming my lens over the top of the car to the other side lol...I kinda took it by surprise.
