A twenty minute exposure records the pathway of the stars across the night sky while our Earth spins through the heavens. Several bands of aurora sweep across the sky during the exposure, creating irregular shapes as they cross each others paths.

Edit* Updated development of this photo - another original .raw file surfacing from my recent discovery of a stash of my old images.

i remember a guy wrote his story about his photo which he wanted to delete and he didn't, later on he explored his gallery folders and found that image and submitted it online, which came out to win a big award!

I'll bet you see them again that far south this year. There was some sort of storm or solar material release recently and we got auroras bright enough the past two nights to shine through our bright summer sky..pretty amazing. I hear the activity for 2012 is supposed to go through the roof!
