Very low clouds sweeping in from the northwest over the warm tungsten lighting of the small town of Fort Smith creates this very cool and dramatic effect, with the camera positioned about 15-20 km southeast of the town facing back toward the direction of the light. Because I was far enough away from town light, I still had a very dark sky. But since the low cloud so strongly reflected the light, it appears to be positively on fire in camera. Anyway, I thought it was cool!

It's very surprising what these newer cameras can do. Full frame helps!

What a stunning shot, well done. Definitely my favorite out of all your photos.

I gotta ask, what tripod legs and head combination do you use for these shots? At 25 second exposure, do the stars move enough for trails to be noticeable?

@16mm on full frame, 25 seconds results in very little apparent trailing until you start printing over 40 inches or so on the long side. Even then it's still relatively subtle.

I have a Gitzo tripod, I believe it is in the "Traveller" series, I can't actually remember...And I am using a Gitzo GH2750QR Series 2 Magnesium ball head. Slightly older model, but is sturdier and steadier than I could ask for.
